What is Henna?

Henna is a small tree that grows in hot climatic conditions like that of Africa and Southern of Asia. Henna is used for dying hair, skin and even fingernails. Henna is non permanent and harmless. It leaves a reddish brown or brick brown colour on the skin. It usually stays there for up to 2 weeks. Since henna is natural there are no side effects.

Henna paste is made by mixing water in dry henna powder. It makes it totally natural, safe and painless. Besides, it is temporary in nature as well. It starts fading after a few days and completely goes off in minimum of 1 and maximum of 4 weeks. Basically, it depends on the thickness of one's epidermis. After applying leave the paste for 2-3 hours to allow it to dry. Keeping the paste for a longer duration will help you get a darker shade. Your design shouldn't be exposed to water for at least first 3-4 hours, as the darkening process goes on for the first 4-5 hours.
